The Museo Parroquial, known as the “El Tresor” (the treasure) and located in the new sacristy and in the adjoining rooms, is where a valuable collection of gold religious jewelry housed by the cathedral can be found.
Divided into three rooms, the “Tresor” contains significant pieces such as a processional gold plated cross in the plateresque style of the 16th century, adorned with precious stones and two medallions which represent the Virgin and Saint John. Among the other items on display are an image of the Immaculate Virgin made of embossed silver in the plateresque style of the 17th century, a collection of liturgical attire from different periods, valuable books of Gregorian chants and religious paintings.
